Frequently asked questions
Q: When will the courses run?
A: The diploma course runs on 10 weekends, from September to June each year.
The Introductory and Certificate courses will run on evenings, currently Tuesdays
Q: Will I be required to have personal therapy?
A: NO. We leave students to decide for themselves if they need therapy.
Q: Who will be teaching the courses?
A: George Rhodes, Andrew Hart and Sarah Jacques will be teaching on the Diploma course and there will always be at least 2 facilitators.
Q: What will I receive at the end of my course?
A: An appropriate Certificate or Diploma issued by Discovery Counselling and Training Services and in the case of the Diploma, accreditation from the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.
Q. Will I require a DBS?
A: It isn’t a requirement for our courses.
However you will almost certainly need one for your placement if you are doing the Diploma.
Q. How many others will be doing the courses?
A: We won’t know for sure, however we will only take a maximum of 16 students.
Q: Will I have to keep a journal?
A: We recommend that you do and it is likely to be very helpful in meeting course outcomes on the Diploma. and Certificate. However we will not ask to see it or read it.
